configure alert
I want configue alert for my new server like hdd failure,what I need for do

No necessary to use other software
,because every vendor also have their own age
nt to do this job,actually my senior able to configure to send alert .i saw him just unable the smtp in server,but i dont know the step,so i hope somebody can guide me in this.
example ,he configure the alert in insign manager and for CA also have this features ,but may need configure smtp in server,please guide me how to do

Smtp settings are specific to used software (and hardware).
Usually it is enough to know parameters of existing smtp server (your own, ISP's or some other - authorization parameters, etc.).
If you like to know how to setup your own smtp server, may be better if you delete your question and ask new one with details (may be in other zone).

Okay i try to describe my question in here one more time,hopefully can have a better understanding for everybody to provide the solution
Recently we set-up HP proliant server DL380 for my customer,my customer request us to configure alert for the hardware and major issue and send to his email .What should i do for that ?
