the windows security center can't be started

I have a win 7 home premium pc that gets the error "the windows security center can't be started" when I try and turn it on in the security center.

I have run malware & virus apps  -- problem still exists
I have tried to run a restore from a month or so ago that as far as it goes back
when I look for the "security center service in the services window ... its not displayed

any idea's

so you went to start > run > services.msc

you don't see security center as an option?  Can you post a Screen shot?

Can you try booting into safe mode with administrator privileges and see if it's listed?

what antivirus / malware software do you have currently and what has ran so far?

Thanks for the knowledgebase article above ... its still not working though
if I go into to safe mode I was able to see the security center option and after walking through the various steps I'm know able to see it in normal admin user mode.
I have run ms essentials & malwarebytes and super antispyware & MRT ... MS tried the fix-it site
