What are the steps/hardware/software involved in changing a sim cards iccid?

Thank you for viewing my inquiry. I am looking for a way to change the iccid number on my sim card so I won't have to pay 30 dollars for another sim cards. the phone company wants 30 dollars and I won't give it to them. All I want to is to change the sim card iccid number.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sorry.  The iccid is burned into the card; you can't change it.  This is because you might change it into a number already being used, allowing you to run up some other random person's bill.

You wouldn't want that done to you, would you?

Please do not post information that is not accurate or misleading. The iccid is not "burned" into the card by any means. Can someone else post so relevant and accurate information. Thank you.

"ICCID

Each SIM is internationally identified by its integrated circuit card identifier (ICCID). ICCIDs are stored in the SIM cards and are also engraved or printed on the SIM card body during a process called personalization. The ICCID is defined by the ITU-T recommendation E.118 as the Primary Account Number."

Perhaps I should have said "engraved"-- the point is that it is permanent.  Sorry if that disappoints you...
