make array from "difference" between two arrays

I have two arrays. One has many number. One has only ten. All the numbers that exist in the smaller array also exist in the smaller array. I'm trying to make an array of the numbers that do not exist in the smaller array.

var unusedArr = [];
for (x in idsToFade) {

    for (y in cleanIdArray) {

        if (idsToFade[x] != cleanIdArray[y]) {
            unusedArr.push(cleanIdArray[y]);
        }

    }

}
console.log(unusedArr);¿

Open in new window

My problem is that unusedArr gets filled with the values 10 times, because that is the length of the array i'm basing the first for in loop on (idsToFade).

I feel I am missing something pretty basic. Much appreciative for any help!
