When I customize my menu, and place tabs in alphbetical order, my dropdown features don't work. When I remove the custom menu they operate, but now the tabs are not in the order I would like.

Do you have an example of the PHP code that you're using for the WP menu?

The code for the menu is probably in the header.php and the menu function that loads your menu is in the functions.php file, but i only need the header.php file. The could should look like something like this:

<?php wp_nav_menu(); ?>

Open in new window

Found solution at this link:

 http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-of-menu-items-and-creating-sub-menus

It requires pushing  some custom menu items towards right to  make them sub-menu items.

Additional research resulted in this solution, that didn't require changing code
