install guest operating system - virtual machine connection error

when trying to install guest operating system, error virtual machine connection.. the application encountered an error while attempting to change the state of 'winxp'
'winxp' could not initialize (virtual machine ID AB11x....

the error happens regardless using iso image or from dvd to install....

can you try changing the Hard disk type or controller type in the properties of the VM and try installing again?

...or perhaps Virtualization needs to be enabled in the BIOS.  A CPU setting.

if the hardware is not capable, you will not be able to run it. Check the MB and chip to see if it is capable.

the cpu is intel i7-2600.. MB is GA-Z68A-D3H-B3... under BIOS, had tried to press Ctrl + F1 to bring up all options. .under miscellaneous settings, virtualization technology is enabled.
