Single letter won't print

I have a strange case.  At one of our buildings any document that includes a lowercase 'w' that is sent to a printer is printed without the lowercase 'w'.  When we do a print preview everything looks fine.  When we actually print the documents the lowercase 'w's aren't printing.  This is occurring on multiple computers using a couple of different printers.

Any ideas on this one?

This is for all documents? Is this MS word / excel?

Have you tried in notepad as well?  Did this just start happening recently?  Any changes made?

Check for latest office updates / service packs as well as windows updates.

This did just start happening recently.  Nothing changed from what we can tell.  It's really quite odd.

We ended up updating print drivers on our print server and reinstalling the printers.  Things are working fine for now.

Still don't really know what happened but it's working for now.
