Flash_player_Install_Error
I have a windwos xp PC wth admin privs.
I want to install flash player for IE. I keep getting an error
"The active X control for Flash player could not be registered".
I tried different things with IE8 and could not get it to install.
Any ideas. Adobe says this s a write permission issue to registry but i do have admin privs.

Yes, i did this and it worked. Would this work for both IE and FF browsers?
It should. They both use the registry, although in different keys. Running Subinacl resets all the registry permissions.

The flash chart shows up in IE but it does nto show up in Firefox. FF tells me i need a plugin and when i install it it fails for some reason.
it seems each browsers uses different plugin for flash.

Yes, worked fine. you are a genius!
Follow the steps listed here:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-windows-registry-permissions.html
read the entire process first so you have an idea of what to do.. Create the folders it asks you to install or download to so that you are ready before doing anything. It is actually very simple and easy to follow. Just follow the steps listed under "Solution."
