Project 2010 - Import and Export from Excel is not working

I can't seem to fire up the import/export dialog box when I choose "new from Excel workbook" in the file tab.
I tried "repair" ing the installation to no avail.
What's the next step.  I do NOT want to reformat  or completely uninstall everything.

try saving your Excel file in 2003 format, that seems to do the trick when you try to import it in Project 2010.
