Please look at http://www.villageairportvan.com/about.htm

Notice at the bottom the 20 pixel high space. Please view source. Note the height of the table is 3 pixels. I have tried everything I can think of & it insists on making it 20 pixels high.

Why?

It's the white space entity you have in there,  . It is being rendered in whatever the default font-size is for the table. Add style="font-size:.4em" and the white space will take up less room. Adjust as necessary.

Actually, removing the white space entities ( ) completely seems to work best.

.2em works perfectly.

I never knew that   would have a default "height"; very odd.

It's treated like any other character you might put in a table cell. It inherits the line height from the table unless otherwise specified.

Thanks for the points.
