No Desktop Icons at first logon to RDS with a dual monitor RDP

Remote Desktop Server
Server 2008 R2
HP ML 350 G6

At first logon with a RDP client with dual monitor there are no desktop icons. The taskbar is there but cannot be used. If I disconnect the session and connect again, everything is there and working fine.

There are no problems if I change the RDP to one monitor. So it has defeinitely to do with the second monitor.

I found some articles which desicribe the same problem. In one Article the problem was solved by changing the ATI ES 1000 video driver to the native VGA driver. I tried this but without success.

I tried different RDP clients, but I will try a Igel Thin Client which works with Linux and a different RDP client.

any help - other then reinstalling - is welcome

Different RDP clients had the same problem
In the end I went back to what I found on the internet. I removed the ATI driver via Programs and Features and uninstalled the ATI ES 1000 driver via the device manager and choose to remove the driver. Now I use the standard supplied VGA driver and my problem is solved

In had to solve the problem quickly and got no reactions. Is Experts Exchange slipping? To my last question several months ago I received one comment. Anyway this solved my little problem allthough it's strange that the original driver is already from 2009.
