Do You Know Of Or Have Any Really Good Instructional Tutorials For Synaptic Package Manager Regarding How It Works And Usage That Is Part of Linux Ubuntu?

Hello. I have a question to ask you regarding my Linux Ubuntu v.11.04 and v.11.10 64-bit versions.

Do you know of or have any really good instructional tutorials on how to use the Synaptic Package Manager?

This would focused on how to use all its functions and how to works? The target reader would be a newbie to Linux Ubuntu, however the instructional tutorials would expand into greater comprehension and knowledge of the Synaptic Package Manager as well for a more advanced Ubuntu user to appreciate.

Please reply.

Thank you!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

For the Linux newbie, the Ubuntu Software Center application is a better idea: it hides some complexity of packaging.

A good tutorial is this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticHowto

As you will notice, from Ubuntu 11.10, synaptic is no more installed by default on Ubuntu.
