"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

apache itself does not set/add/modifie cookies, that's done by your application and/or application server

for apache you need to use mod_session_cookie or mod_rewrite (which has a cookie flag for RewriteRule)

Thinking making the keep alive short can make the cookie expired sooner as nother that persistent since it is sessions...or simply rewrite the session id through web proxy...
