Trouble deleting public folder store

I have an Exchange 2010 server.  The drive cage failed.  The only data on this server was an empty public folder store. (I did not setup replication yet so it is empty)

I have a new drive cage up.  I need to delete the old public folder store and create a new store on the new storage.  When I attempt to delete the store I receive the following error:

Exchange isn't able to check for public folder replicas for 'Public Folder'. Verify that the Microsoft Information Store service is runnning...

I'm not going to be able to get the store running but I sitll need to be able to delete the store.  Can i use ASDI?  Is there any other ways to delete Public Folder stores?

Thanks,
Ray

I would not clean it up using adsiedit unless it is a last resort. Then you don't have to dig for metadata.

It can be used here

Configuration container\services\Microsoft Exchange\administrative groups\exchange administrative group(fyd...)\databases

click on PF and then delete. Wait for AD replication before attempting to create another one.

Does it have any replicas?
