Good Evening,

I have a .am4 file from a clients DVR security system. I downloaded this DVR player: http://www.securityfirstcamera.com/ddrivers/19DVR/Program/X_IRS(W)_VER_1.0.zip and I am able to play the file. However, the 4 channel file only plays a few seconds on some channels and several minutes on other channels. The player states that the file is over 2 hours and 30 minutes in length. Ultimately, I would like to convert the file to another format to give back to the client on DVD-R other other media. Any suggestions Experts?

Thanks!

Give the client the dvr software and the original file.  It's likely the best quality he will get.

Much of the time when the video is converted from the native format of the DVR the quality goes down.  This is especially the case if any kind of compression is done.

It's also better to have original video if its actually needed.

I would imagine the file time length has more to do with the time index of the motion recorded segments.

DVR software had an option to "save file" which converted .AM4 to .AVI file. DVR software not very user friendly. Trial and error eventually produced the results I needed. Cheers!
