Looks like that your outlook client is facing difficulties with OaB. When you run outlook in online mode, it should not stuck like that. Make sure that your servers are setup to push OAB using local servers and not remote.

when I click send/receive it gives me the progress bar.<br />

see attached - offline address book connecting to Microsoft Exchange. - processing.<br />

mail seemes to still be coming through as normal.<br />
