vm out of space for vmdk_00002 msg.hbacommon.outofspace

received the message in the title. can't edit the vm through edit settings. veeam was at 99% and likely removing the snapshot. what can I do to increase space or at least get the server back up. I don't care if the backup fails - I'll just run it again.

I increased the disk on the SAN by 10 GB, added it to the vm through vCenter, and answered the VM question to retry. it did not come back but the VM has no options available except open console. It appears to be up and running but Outlook is not connecting (it is my exchange server).

the vmdk_0002 disk size has decreased significantly. outlook has reconnected. exchange running very slow. veeam still showing 99%. I guess trying to remove snapshot. hopefully the backup won't fail since it ran out of room.

1. increase datastore space on the datastore.

2. reduce memory in the VM will reduce the vswap on the datastore.

3. turn off other vms that share the same datastore thus increasing space because no vswap = memory on the disk.

thanks. I now have about 10 GB free on the exchange datastore. any idea why I only have the open console option for this server? no edit settings or other options available. also, any idea if the veeam backup which ran for 10 hours before pausing during snapshot removal due to low disk space will fail? veeam still shows 99% and has for some time so just wondering if I should manually stop it and run another backup.

I can ask this is separate questions if necessary. thx

thanks. it just completely removed the snapshot and veeam finished the backup. seems to be running normal now
