Initial setup of Dell PowerConnect 6224 switch
Trying to connect to my new powerconnect 6224 switch. I'd rather not have to use console to set it up. My laptop doesn't have the right connection. I would like to set it up with the web interface by connecting strait to the switch with an ethernet port.
Not sure if the switch is default to dhcp. I can't find it's IP if it is. I've read that the default ip could be 192.168.2.1 but i'm not able to find it when I put my laptop on that network.
What are the default settings for this switch? The manual doesn't really say. Do I have to use console for initial setup?
thanks!

I found no documentation on the internet stating anything about a default ip or login. The documentation the switches came with also made no claims. Dell tech support said there is no defaults. Must be set via console. I've set them in the console.
I'll mark this as multiple solutions. Odd though it wouldn't be documented anywhere, as other devices are.

Reason for multiple solutions stated above.
I have purchased 2x 6224 and 1x6248 and they all came with as I described. If you need any help how to configure via serial port I can help you.
