Is it possible to use an android tablet as an input device for a video game. Has anybody done this?

I would like to make a stand alone tic tac toe game in java on a computer then have 2 Android tablets connected to that computer to act as input devices. Is that setup possible?

Similar to IanTh's idea, if you can get them to network wireless or bluetooth, you should be able to send control information through a socket.  Much like a multiplayer game, where the PC acts as the server and the Androids are the clients.

One you've established a protocol you can send game information back to the 'droids too.  They could display scores, maps, use vibration for feedback, make sounds and so on.
