Iphone/Ipads issues to sync the Calendar only - Emails sync perfectly

Hi Experts,

We have Exchange 2003 and recently we started to get a lot of complains of people Iphones/Ipads to sync their Calendars.
Emails sync normally but Calendars do not.
Our workaround is move all the meeting requests and appointments from the main "Calendar" to another calendar called "Backup Calendar".

Finally we moved everything back to the main "Calendar" in block of 100 meetings. If we move the whole thing just once, the device does not sync. If we move in parts, it works.
We suspect after our customers upgrade their Apple SO to 5.11, this problem started.

On our front-end, we are getting the following Critical error in the Application Event Viewer>>

====================
Event Id: 3005
Description: Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [backEnd server] User: [john.smith@domain.gov.au] HTTP status code: [409].

Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
====================

Any thougths?

Cheers,

Marc

The error might cuase if you had enabled Anonymous access.
Try disabling the Anonymous Access for the Exchange Virtual Directory:
-Open IIS Manager - Open properties of the Exchange virtual directory
- Select Directory Security tab - Select Authentication and access control - Edit Authentication Methods:
Enable Basic authentication Enable Integrated Windows authentication Disable anonymous access

Apart from the 3005 error, the active sync issues might cause due to any third party applications or AV etc...
Try disabling all thirdparty applications and check.
Mostly with this issue might be with the symantec AV/url scan/ScriptLogic FileSystem....

Hi dreamraghu,

You say to disable anonymous access from my FrontEnd or BackEnd?

Cheers

My problem has been fixed by the Security people.
It seems all our ActiveSync traffic was flowing just by one FrontEnd. When they added the second FrontEnd back the Calendar issues were fixed. We realised that when we saw our ActiveSync logs on the second server had dropped from 500Mb to 50Kb.

Thank you
