Something like this:

listen  8080
  bind *:8080
  balance roundrobin
  mode http
    server tomcat-1 tomcat-1:8080 check inter 5000
    server tomcat-2 tomcat-2:8080 check inter 5000

The example still works, two webservers that share a central content location and central DB (or cluster of DB servers and a iSCSI mount?)

Listen (port to listen on.. 80?)
bind (*= all IPs.. or specify one: port)
balance roundrobin will roundrobin requests to multiple backend servers (web servers)
mode http or https
server <name> <fqdn:port>
server <name2> <fqdn2:port>
