0x000006ba Printer error

Fresh image install of windows 7 32bit, I try to add a network printer, get 0x000006ba print spooler has not start, please restart. After logging in an admin, restart service, try to add printer, service stops same error. Any ideas? The image just has office 2010 and windows 7 installed, plus adobe reader

Try this:
Most likely the installed print drivers are corrupting the memory of the spooler process
launch printmanagement.mcs
start the spooler service
Drivers
Refresh
Select the drivers, right Driver Isolation, Isolated
this will move the print drivers into a different process.

Did you open Printer Management? Then you can there look into drivers and look if any driver is installed. Remove all printer drivers and try connect to the printer again.

X Layer's solution worked for me.

It was an old Dell AIO printer installed on a new Win7 x64 PC.  Every time I turned on the print spooler service, it would turn itself off within 3-4 seconds.  After several attempts, I was able to turn on the service and remove the printer before it stopped again.  after that I deleted all the drivers associated with that printer in print management and it works fine now.  I believe the printer didn't have drivers that would work with Win7 (too old).
