Hello. I have a question to ask about the GIMP Image Editor version 2.6.11 I installed separately, now part of my Linux Ubuntu v.11.10 64-bit operating system.

Yes, I know GIMP offers an decent online link from the GIMP GUI main menu for ''User Manual". I know it is a good one! However as we all know, one instructional resource alone may miss out on a few tricks, tips, or even features and functions that is does not address. I was just wondering if you know of any good instructional guide or manual that is very comprehensive and well written that the novice snapshot photographer could easily understand inclusive to the advanced multimedia designer that would really appreciate the detail and involvement in the full functionality. I know it will overlap at times with the online link resource inherent to GIMP, but I am sure to pick up some more information from other great resources as well.

It could be in the form of a online PDF document that can be downloaded and saved -- this would be much greatly appreciated... ...or yet another excellent online weblink that may or may not require registration. Free online resource would be greatly appreciated; but I will not rule out the paid ones either.

Please reply.

Thank you!

What do you think about this one: http://docs.gimp.org/2.4/pdf/en.pdf ? It is a little bit outdated (2.4) since you have GIMP 2.6, but I think that a lot of axplanations remains the same.

It has 653 pages with a lot of screenshots and pictures. It exists also in other languages.
