1 Solution
Well, I would start with these articles:
Can I have a date? http://e-e.com/A_484-Can-I-have-a-date.html
2 Dates - What's the difference: http://e-e.com/A_483-2-Dates-What%27s-the-difference.html

The first explains the JavaScript date object, and the second talks about determining the difference but stops at the level of # of days.
