Is there any free tool that can recover a corrupt quickbooks file?

I cant even open it up in order to run the QB recovery tool. I tried the demo of a paid program and it looks like it would be successful.

But Im looking for a free one.

Thanks

Try a program called "Recuva". It's free and works great! Just remember to recover the files onto a separate drive or partition so you don't overwrite the file that you are trying to save!

Oh I see. Do other QB files have problems opening or just this one?

You may want to try reinstalling/repairing Quickbooks and see if it will open the file. If that doesn't work then your best bet would be to contact Intuit and see what options they recommend. I have never personally run into this problem, but I'm sure they have dealt with it frequently and will know exactly what to do.
