Hello,

How can I strip a backup file for having small files?

you can't
why do you need small files for?
possible solutions:
1) use backup compression
2) backup tablespaces instead of databases
3) use incremental backups
4) once the backup is complete, split the image to smaller files using other software such as winzip or gzip
