I would guess it has to do with the laptop keyboard in that you are accidently clicking a fn or num lock key unintentionally. You might try plugging in an external USB keyboard if you have one and see if the problem still occurs.

when I select a cell in excel 2007 with the mouse and then arrow over with the arrow keys it starts to select all the cells that I arrow over on. &nbsp;Then I can't get it to stop. &nbsp;I have heard that it is extended or ext that is causing this. &nbsp;And that hitting f8 will stop it. &nbsp;This has not worked. &nbsp;When I reboot it works fine again and then all of a sudden it starts doing it again.
