Hi there,

I am interested in creating an Apple App for Mac and/or iPad.

I am just starting out so my knowledge is limited and I don't expect this happen overnight.

My first question is this;

Is there a source for data related to sporting events that can be used to populate an app? This source should include historical (stats) data and live (near real time) data.

For now, I am looking for data specific to the Super 15 Rugby Competition but appreciate all information on the subject.

Thanks in advance.

There are lots of RSS feeds .. usually related to NEWS which you can feed into an APP
http://www.superxv.com/rss/

For historical data or statistics I'd suggest you contact the Super 15 organisation
http://www.superxv.com/contact/index.asp
or perhaps you have a contact in one of the clubs concerned who may know of a data gathering organisation who provide such a feed to clubs.

Statistics or historical data are usually commercially sensitive or at least valuable and if they are published it will probably cost $$ to access the data.
