How to forward an exchange email account to a non-exchange email account

I was wondering how to forward an email address from an exchange account to a non exchange account.  I am using exchange 2010.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Create a contact card with a name something like ForwarderForUser. Set the SMTP address to user@domain.com.

Edit the exchange mailbox and forward it to the contact card.  It is pretty much the same in all exchange versions.

In ADUC you create a New Contact with the non-exchange address.

Goto the user in question and under Exchange General Tab -> Delivery options

Put a check in the forward box and type the new contact you created.
