Gmail Inbox preview settings

How do you change how messages are viewed in the Inbox of Gmail?  Rather than have the message all in one line, show more of a preview of the message without clicking on the message.

I don't think that is possible. But you can get a nice preview pane like Outlook by using the below Labs addon (go to 'the cog'>settings>labs)
