how to enable vsphere web access services on the esxi host 4.1

I'm trying to check the status of the vmware-webAccess service on my esxi 4.1 host so i can poll for vmware in solarwinds. When I enter the command service vmware-webAccess status i get the error message service: not found. What is the correct command for this service in vmware 4.1?
