Connecting two sites over WAN (Sonicwall NSA 240 on both sites) & optimizing traffic

Hello, I would like to connect my two offices so that the second office can access the hosted Dynamics AX app that we use in the first office. the offices are far away (usa and china), and both sites have dedicated wan connections of 3Mbit.

Could I setup a VPN between the sonicwalls and tag the traffic so that it is prioritized and deduplicated/compressed on both ends?

I read about Sonicwall's "wan optimization" function, does the basic "totalsecure" subscription we bought with our sonicwalls cover the "wan optimization" function? how would this compare with a virtual appliance solution ie. Netscaler in terms of responsiveness?

Any other ideas? Thank you

To answer your first question, you sure can connect them very easily with a VPN, provided the China location doesn't have any issue with the government firewall over there.

If you use a VPN though, note that you are using the public internet, so there is no way to prioritize traffic. Your VPN data will be handled by the ISPs the same as everyone else.

The WAN optimization would need a separate product, the firewalls do not have that capability.
