I have a Windows 2008 R2 2 node clustered file server that holds all my files and folders for 3000 staff.<br />
At the moment all we do is backup the data nightly.<br />
This is fine but we are starting to run out of space on our disks and need to archive off a lot of data and then make this a regular process.<br />
<br />
What I want to achieve is to have the data archive to another server or set of disks after 1 year but create a link to the files.<br />
After 2 years later (3 in total) i want to do a final backup and then delete these files and links.<br />
If a file gets used whilst it is in the Archive location, i would like it to be moved back.....if possible.<br />
<br />
Can anyone suggest a way of doing this with either windows or a 3rd party solution that will help me with this?<br />
