Clustered File Server Archiving
All,
I hope you can help me with this.
I have a Windows 2008 R2 2 node clustered file server that holds all my files and folders for 3000 staff.
At the moment all we do is backup the data nightly.
This is fine but we are starting to run out of space on our disks and need to archive off a lot of data and then make this a regular process.
What I want to achieve is to have the data archive to another server or set of disks after 1 year but create a link to the files.
After 2 years later (3 in total) i want to do a final backup and then delete these files and links.
If a file gets used whilst it is in the Archive location, i would like it to be moved back.....if possible.
Can anyone suggest a way of doing this with either windows or a 3rd party solution that will help me with this?
Thank you
James
