How to create on screen and flexible reports with php?

HI

We are developing an application that requires show queries in a very flexible way, just to put an example, we have lots of financial information so the executives want to see it on screen and "modify it" on fly, change fields that group information, filter it, make sums and stuff like that, similar to have some kind of crystal reports on line.

I wonder if there is a php component capable of doing that.

Regards

Not really a PHP component. If you want really nice graphing, I would go with FusionCharts, which is a commercial (but relatively cheap) charting product I've used in the past for projects with executives looking at data. If you want more interaction and flexibility, I think it's still hard to beat Crystal Reports fro something pre-built. Otherwise, it'll be up to you to build out the interfaces to collect pieces of information and then display the proper reports.

I have seen FusionCharts website and its pretty good for showing information in a simple way but the financial department wants more like a report and listings about sales and data like that, so is there any version of crystal reports for websites?, do you know how it works their leasing?

Nothing that I've seen that comes close to what you're describing, at least not with interaction. Crystal Reports does have a web-based version. You could also use jQuery components like Datatables.net to dynamically sort and present rendered data listings in an easier format. It has a ton of ways to customize the output, which may meet your needs:

I used to use these components for asp.net and those are more less what I want but using PHP: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Languages/.NET/ASP.NET/Q_27289740.html
