How to print a fax directly to a fax machine without generating an email.

Hi Experts, we have a Cisco 2901 running CUE 8.5.. currently faxes work with the onramp functionality, but our user base wants to break that workflow and have faxes print directly to the fax machine that is plugged in to the FXO card. I'm at a loss here as my expertise is  mostly just maintaining the end user's e-phones. Can some one please help me get through removing the onramp functionality? Better yet just disabling it? They tend to change their minds a lot about things like this. Thanks in advance.

Is the number a dedicated one? You can just point that number to the FXS port (not FXO)

Can you upload the rest of your config? please remove any identifiable info.

Assuming the fax number is the 83032781 one and the FXS port you want to hook up to is 0/1/1

Then the config is as follows:

dial-peer voice 8 pots
shut
dial-peer voice 83032781 mmoip
shut

((( Make sure the dial-peer below does not exists before you type it in )))

dial-peer voice 2781 pots
 destination-pattern 83032781
 port 0/1/1

In case you need to revert, just type in the following:

dial-peer voice 2781 pots
shut
dial-peer voice 8 pots
no shut
dial-peer voice 83032781 mmoip
no shut

Thanks for the quick reply, I will do some testing tomorrow morning and see what I get. This shouldn't affect the outbound faxing at all correct? I know the FAX machine is plugged into the FXS card. That's how they fax out.. should it be pointed at the same port?

Should not affect outbound faxing if it's already working. Worst case just revert.

If you only have the one fax machine connected to port 0/1/0 then you need to modify the dial peer to point to that port.
