Outlook 2010 Calendar Search not Working Properly

We use Outlook 2010, Windows 7, 64-bit, Microsoft Exchange 2010.  We do not use PST files.  Trying to search calendar items in a shared calendar.  The search returns NO results when searching for simple words that I can see on the shared calendar.

That is due o the fact that you are looking at view that is built up via Free/Busy data. You don’t actually have indexed items in that folder and so you cannot search it.

It may be able to be done using Advanced Find:

Click on the search box in any Outlook 2007 window; the Search Tools tab appears on the ribbon.

From the Search tab, select Search Tools, then Advance Find...

In the Advance Find (AF) window, specify the type and location of the item, (such as Messages and Inbox).  To search a shared folder or calendar, click on the Browse... button and navigate to the desired folder.  NOTE: Only one folder can be searched at a time so you will need to remove the check from the other folders.  Once you've selected the desired folder, click OK.

Enter other desired search criteria into the AF window and then click on Find Now.

You may need to change the view option for the shared calendar to list view prior to searching....
