Error 1723 Java Install

Error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

when installing java ... also get error if I try to uninstall old java version from add remove programs.

tried downloading offline file from java website ... same problem ..

have also got errors like fatal error ... on other ocassions.

SOLUTION

1.Remove any traces of the failed Java installation by uninstalling Java.
http://www.java.com/en/download/uninstall.jsp
2.Download and install the offline installation package.
http://www.java.com/winoffline_installer/

Try to remove any traces of the previous and failed Java installation by uninstalling Java http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_java.xml. Then download and install the Windows offline installer package http://www.java.com/winoffline_installer/.
