Parent drop-down refresh after change on child form

I have a parent/child form.  On the parent form is a drop-down listing all the active employees.  On teh child form is a control that the user can enter termination date.  When the date is entered, the underlying record is updated and everything works fine. However, how do I get the parent drop-down to refresh so it does not show the terminated employee?  This is an ACCESS 2003 database.

(BTA, this is a different database from two other open questions for those who are helping me with those questions)

Yes, I was missing the parent part of the statement.
