We have 8 Exchnage 2007 mailbox servers. Few storage groups are overloaded with mailboxes. We are considering to move mailboxes to other storage groups in Exchange Environment.

Please let me know the plan to move mailboxes within Exchnage 2007 environment.

1. Is there any dependencies to be considered before & after movement.
2. Is mailbox movement within the server / to different server is reccommended.
Because i heared if we have blackberry users then moving mailbox to different server is recoomended. Please clarify.

We also have enterprise vault enabled on store for archiving mailboxes.

Could you please provide us if you have any plan. Will be helpful to me.

Enterprise vault have no impact on the move.
depends on resource, the first choice is to move to the least resource hungry spot.
Blackberry are considered another endpoint and it interact directly with mailbox
(other activesync talks to CAS only)

My plan is to move a test group users (let's say 5) to confirm no impact
then average them out.

not a hard job to do.
no hard dependencies if everything is in the same site, if it is different site then work out which is better fit.
