Remote Connect and Backup to Seagate GoFlex Home

Hi all,
I purchased a 2TB Seagate GoFlex Home networked hard drive so I could put it in another location and backup my important files to it.

The problem is, it is designed for this... except without the remote part. It is designed for you to be connected to your home network and backup all of your files etc.

I want to know what a cheap (hopefully free) and easy way to make this work. I tried LogMeIn Hamachi, but it only does VPN for the computer it is installed on... and I can't install it on the NAS, duh.

Does anyone have any solutions or ideas?

You can use Teamviewer , it's Free
http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/index.aspx. you can run it (no need to install)

Another thing is that, If your seagate harddisk have something wlan card or ethernet card as you said above it is designed for networked hard drive. Then I hope , its also having IP address option. So, if it has these things then you can do port forwarding in internet modem to control your hard disk from any where. Other thing if you have connected this hard disk with PC and wants to access that pc from other location. Then you can use use remote desktop connection by doing port forwarding into modem on port no. 3389 to access your hard disk from anywhere in the world.

How in the world would team viewer help?? I do not want to access the screen of a computer on the network, I want to connect just to the disk on the network!

Accessing it isn't a problem, it has remote management so I can access it from my ipad or iphone or even a website. But I want it to show up as a networked device on my computer so I can backup to it.

I hope you can set a "name" and "ipaddress" for that network storage device as you said above you can access it from ipad or even a website. It must having option to set ipaddress. once, you have set the ipaddress then you can map it to your My computer place. how to map remote drive see below link.

Sorry, teamviewer can not help in this situation.
