WSUS issue

I'm not familiar with WSUS as I'm trying to learning it at the moment.
My work enviroment is the following:
WSUS server is not connected to the internet and cannot be.
My question is can I download patches I need from a workstation (with internet) and save them onto a CD then take the CD insert into WSUS and push them out from WSUS?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This can be done. It is called a WSUS disconnected network. Basically you would need to set up 2 WSUS servers one in the LAN with no internet access and then another one in the network that has internet access. You would used the connected WSUS server to download the updates and build an export file that you could then import into your disconnected WSUS server.
