I'm wondering if there is a good article or steps to take that you guys know of that can give me some quick troubleshooting help. I often go into clients home's and trouble shoot there pc and network issues. I know about pwr cycling, reset to factory and reconfig but that is about where it ends. Do you guys have some other quick troubleshooting steps.  With the cost of a new router being as low as it is I need to consider new vrs fix senario also

Troubleshooting steps are really going to depend on what the issue is that youre facing.  Internal or external issues.

Good things to utilize on both scenarios would be ping, tracert, nslookup, netstat, net sh, and net use.  Be sure to always check firewall settings.

These are pretty basic command line tools that when understood can provide a ton of information for troubleshoting.
