Hi,

Can you tell me what's the best practice for installing/upgrading/maintaining XenApp 6 (Citrix) clients?

Is it by webinterface, merchandising server, group policy ...? Would like to setup the most flexible way to update current ones, install new users (but only who use it), let users install if needed (via webinterface).

Thanks for your input.

Merchandising server is developed for that purpose and should be by far the most flexible and easiest to control and manage the clients in your environment.

In our environment though we have not utilized the merchandizing server as we have a software distributions solutions (Numara Precision) and we always utilize this solution to create the packages to mass deploy it to our clients on staged phases.

Some people do use GPOs - I wouldn't prefer that method as this method apart from the deployment will not give you the flexibility of reporting and managing apart from the issues that might be faced when the GPOs do not apply properly.
