ASP Script Not Closing Window

This is a script I use to close a window if the record is deleted.  It works if I open a browser on the server but it throws an error elsewhere.  Any idea what is wrong with it?

Response.Write("<script type='text/javascript'>{window.close();}</script>")

Thanks~
