Pull-down field for the list of US States...more than once in the same content type

Hello,

I need to create a field inside a custom content type that would need to use a select list pull-down for the list of US States...more than once in the same content type.

Question:
How would I go about doing this?

What I've done so far:
I've created one pull-down, but cannot seem to reuse it within the same content type.
Also, created a 'States' content type with a pulldown in it to try and use the Entity Reference, but that does not seem to work either.

Using Drupal 7

Any help would be appreciated.
