SCCM Interface

Hello Guys,

Is there a tool out there that would make interaction with SCCM easier that the SCCM Console? Here is my situation. We are currently deploying Windows 7. I have a nice set of task sequences that are doing everything they suppose to do nicely but the folks in the Help Desk complain about the slowness of the SCCM console and how cumbersome the process is. I wonder if there is some kind of GUI out there that can modify to my environment and allow me to choose the basic parameter. For example if imp ready to deploy a brand new laptop i should be able to select: name, role, encryption or not, etc without having to manually add the machine to the various collection in SCCM. Is there or am I just dreaming. Thanks in advance!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How slow is it and for what operation exactly?

Even for AD based things, the information comes out of the SQL DB and not AD itself.

You may want to get your SQL checked.

I'm looking for some kind of script that I can add to my task sequence and work in WinPE. So let's just say i want to deploy a new machine and i want to load my image. when i boot to WinPE the first thing i see should be that script GUI. I should be able to put the machine name, and select all the applications and want to install and let it run. Instead we are using the SCCM console and manually adding the machine to the OSD collection and after the image is loaded we are adding the machine to the application collection. This process is slow and cumbersome and prompt for error. I have heard of places where they use these kind of scripts that simplifies the process
