Parallels Desktop + Windows 7 + Sonicwall Global VPN?

i just purchased a brand spanking new macbook air 13" and parallels desktop 7 to run my windows applications. i'v installed sonicwall global vpn. when launched i am prompted for username and password, but when it gets to the point where its trying to acquire an IP. i get no where with that. when i try connecting with my cisco vpn client to another office i have no problem. does anyone know what the fix is for the sonicwall global vpn? dont seem to have any issues with my home pc but does no work on parallels desktop 7 with win7 guest.

I'm not seeing this is a general issue. I have found where some have not been able to get the gvc to connect via Parallels. I assume you're running the latest version of the gvc and Parallels. Have you looked at the gvc logs while it's trying to connect to see if an error of some sort comes up? Have you considered the ssl-vpn client instead and connect from the Mac?
Have you tried other software?  IPSecuritas seems to be another product that can work (I'm assuming that your using IPSEC):

GVClog:

2012/04/06 09:52:47:415      Information      <local host>      Renewing IP address for the virtual interface (00-60-73-80-C3-F5).
2012/04/06 09:54:47:805      Warning          <local host>      Failed to renew the IP address for the virtual interface.

i've changed the network 1 to be the default adapter.
The firewall appliance you are trying to connect to may be out of leases, or you might need to delete the lease you have on it:

if that isn't the case, this thread has a bunch of solutions that might work for you:

contacted the 3rd party vpn software and their excellent solution was to enable net traversal.
