iTunes Secure link to iTunes Store failed

My iTunes having the "Secure link to iTunes Store failed" error.

iTunes
I tried reset my Internet Explorer
Disable Kaspersky AntiVirus 2012
Use "netsh winsock reset"

I read many forums and tried to fix the Certificate, reset Network, etc.

but still unable to solve the error.
Anyone can help?

Click on Next and look through the resulting log that is produced.

a) Check the IE is not set to use a Proxy (IE, Tools, Internet Options, Connection, LAN settings. All settings there should be unchecked.

b) Make sure Windows Firewall is off, since you have Kaspersky.

c) I have seen other posts about Kasperky, so try (temporarily) uninstalling it to see if that helps.

d) Perhaps you need to uninstall/reinstall iTunes.

"I just tried it again but added ituneshelper.exe as the trusted application and it worked! YAY!"

I do not use Kaspersky, but I do use iTunes.

I think most likely is my Windows networking problems, coz I got Kaspersky completed disabled and exit.

There are more parameters than you have used, so it may not have worked for you. Also, see if you can find the link for your particular operating system (you did not say) because there is a FixIt application you can download and run. But it needs to be for your operating system.

iTunes does not make many demands on the network but it does require firewall clearance.

Also, you have VMware installed. Are you trying to run iTunes in a virtual machine? If so, try a bridged connect (NAT is the normal default).

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit)
No, I am using ITunes in my Host system, not in VMWare.

Open Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center. Make sure first that you network connection is set to Home/Work and NOT Public. Then go into Advanced Settings (on the left) and select the Home/Work pull down.  Check the following:

a) Turn on Network Discovery
b) Turn on File and Print sharing
c) Turn off Public folder sharing
d) Turn off Media streaming (it should already be off)
e) Turn on 128-bit encryption.

The rest should not affect iTunes and possibly not all the above affect iTunes.

Try completely uninstalling Kaspersky as well.

And also, make sure you are using iTunes 64-bit version for your system

Mawingho:  I checked the networking setup I left you on my own and client machines with iTunes and the network setup as shown above works.

Did you try uninstalling Kaspersky (not disabling, but uninstalling)?

No. Services are left running and I have read that Kaspersky gets deep into networking. This is why I ask. .... Thinkpads_User

The answer was to use "Do not scan network traffic" . You may have to have Kaspersky running to set this.

Thanks for the update. I do not know then. The only thing I can image would the firewall blocking access. There is not much else.  You may have to make a specific allowance for the iTunes store in your firewalls.  .... Thinkpads_User
