hi,
I was installing sql server 2005 standard on 2008 server standard and it gave me a warning about ASP and IIS, but I could not find them under components or under features. Also a message about visual basic 2005 not being compatible with the edition..was that referiing to the 2008 server. I also installed SP3 sql 2005. Would I need to uninstall the sql 2005 and install the components first or can I install them after the fact.

Thanks

These are installed in the Server Manager under adding features and roles.  These articles cover how to add asp.NET and IIS to server 2008.  The articles talk about installing SQL 2008 but it applies to your situation too.

I did not think you could complete the installation of SQL server without the prerequisites so I believe you cannot install these features after the fact.  You'll need to install them and then install Sql Server 2005.
