Brocade 825-E HBA card can't work if directly connect to HDS AMS2100

I have Brocade 825-E cards in my x3850 servers which when connected
directly to AMS2100 doesn't detect anything & HDS recommends to use
QLogic / Emulex HBA

Originally an ex-colleague proposed to our customer to get Brocade 825-E
together with EMC Clariion AX4-5 SAN but customer cancelled EMC SAN
(due to cost reason) & they bought AMS2100 from HDS instead.

Customer don't have enough FC switch ports.  Going thru FC switch would
enable the Brocade 825 to detect AMS2100.

Q1:
I need to establish if Brocade 825-E would work with EMC Clariion AX4-5
in the 1st place.  Can anyone verify this?
The urls/links below doesn't quite specifically mention so:
 http://www.brocade.com/downloads/documents/reference_guides/EMC_Partner_HBA_Support_Matrix_01.pdf
 http://www.brocade.com/downloads/documents/interoperability/EMC-HBA-CNA-Interoperability-Matrix-20100223.pdf

Q2:
Can someone recommend specific models of single-port (skip the dual
port models if possible) 8Gbps HBA cards that would work if directly
connected to AMS2100 (Emulex / QLogic models)

Following link / url seems to indicate Emulex has a good compatibility
matrix compared to Brocade's :

Brocade 825 doesn't support loop, sorry, you'll need a different card.

(second one is quite funny, asker keeps insisting they are connecting point-to-point which is what it looks like physically but direct attached uses FC/AL topology)

Hi

Kindly answer Q2, ie :
Recommend specific models of HBA cards (I'm looking for single-port 8Gbps)
that could support direct connection from a server to SAN (HDS
AMS2100 in this case)

Qlogic - (IBM branded) http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/tips0721.html?Open#contents

Emulex - (IBM branded)  http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/tips0727.html#contents

You'll note that one of the drawings shows them directly connected to a storage box, i.e. in loop topology.

Hmm,
IBM branded Brocade 46M6049 also shown in FC-AL topology, http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/abstracts/tips0719.html?Open#contents .

Maybe your card can be put into loop mode after all.
